About UPS & Our Culture
The dock door is where the UPS network begins. Every trailer that backs into our package center carries thousands of packages that must be accurately verified, documented, and inducted into the sort system before a single one can move toward its destination. Our Inbound Dock Coordinators are the operational gatekeepers of this critical first step — combining hands-on freight verification with systems-level documentation accuracy that keeps our entire supply chain honest. These are structured UPS warehouse jobs that blend physical dock work with data-entry precision, ideal for detail-oriented individuals building serious logistics careers.
What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)
"Inbound dock coordination requires you to think and move at the same time — you are managing carrier drivers, verifying trailer seals, and updating the inbound system simultaneously. The mental engagement keeps the shift interesting, and the career path from this role into operations management is very clear at UPS. It is by far the most professionally developmental UPS warehouse job I have had at this level." - Current Inbound Dock Coordinator, Baltimore, MD.

- Inbound System Entry: Record all arriving trailer data — origin hub, seal number, scheduled content count, and arrival time — into UPS's transportation management system immediately upon dock check-in, maintaining real-time inbound queue accuracy.
- Carrier Driver Coordination: Communicate professionally with arriving truck drivers and linehaul contractors, assigning dock doors, managing staged trailer flow in the yard, and escalating any detention or early/late arrival issues to the sort manager.
